Bryan Gil was forced off midway through the first half of Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Burnley – and Nuno Espirito Santo has given an update.
Tottenham secured a win at Turf Moor, thanks to a combination of Brazilian magic. Emerson Royal’s gorgeous cross, was met by Lucas Moura.
Spurs had numerous chances to score more than just the one, Gio Lo Celso spurning a brilliant opportunity after being played in by Harry Kane.
Lucas only got the winner after coming off the bench as a substitute – due to an injury sustained by 20-year-old wonderkid Gil, on 25 minutes.
Speaking after the 1-0 win, which sees Spurs book their place in the last eight of the competition – Nuno gave an update on the Spaniard.
“He’s on ice and he is being assessed. There’s not much more so let’s wait to the proper assessment,” Nuno told his press conference, as per FL.

Nuno on Gil: Tottenham star’s injury a blow, ahead of Manchester United
The youngster might have been a genuine contender to start on Saturday against Manchester United – when Spurs play host to the strugglind side.
Lucas had been inconsistent beforehand, while Steven Bergwijn is clearly lacking in confidence. He might have got a go on the right of a front three.
However, he has now gone off injured, putting his availability in doubt for Saturday evening. Meanwhile, Lucas was excellent when off the bench.
A brilliant header was twinned with an all-round solid performance from the ex-PSG star. Spurs will be hoping to have Gil back as soon as possible.
