Sky Bet Championship outfit Nottingham Forest have been extremely busy this summer, signing several new players as the club aim to compete in the higher echelons of the division for the first time in years.
All roads lead towards the club challenging for a place in the Premier League this season and given the ambition shown by Forest off the pitch, reaching the top-flight simply has to be the aim over the next nine months.
Despite a proactive summer in the transfer market it doesn’t necessarily mean that boss Aitor Karanka has finished with his recruitment drive just yet, with the club linked with yet another arrival this week.
According to Kick Off (h/t Hartlepool Mail) the Reds could be interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Romain Saiss before the loan window slams shut at the end of the month.

The 28-year-old featured in this summer’s World Cup for Morocco, capping off a fine campaign after helping Wolves romp to the Championship title as an instrumental part of Nuno Espírito Santo’s team.
Following their promotion to the top flight it would appear that Saïss’ first team chances are now restricted somewhat, with the tough-tackling midfielder not playing any part in Wolves’ first two games of the season.
That could open the door to a loan move away from Molineux for the midfielder and given his connections with super-agent Jorge Mendes, it seems to throw Forest into the driving seat for his signature.
The Reds have tapped into Mendes’ database of clients this summer and if this deal can be struck it could prove to be the best of the lot.
Adlène Guedioura is set for a prolonged period out of the Nottingham Forest side after fracturing a cheekbone at Wigan last weekend, leaving Ben Watson, Jack Colback, Liam Bridcutt and youngster Ryan Yates to battle it out for two midfield spots.
Bridcutt and Yates don’t seem to be remotely in Karanka’s plans for the foreseeable and that could see the Spanish boss enter the market for a replacement for Guedioura, with Saïss seemingly the wanted man.
It is easy to see why Forest want to pursue a deal for the Moroccan, given that he played in 42 games for last year’s champions and his second tier expertise could hand Forest a vital edge over their rivals in the quest for a place in the Premier League.
