Nottingham Forest have been linked with Joe Aribo in recent weeks.
Indeed, Steve Cooper’s Reds reportedly led the race for the Nigeria international at one point.
The Scottish Sun recently claimed Forest were frontrunners for Aribo.

The City Ground outfit was apparently willing to ‘spend big to make sure they land him’.
However, it looks as though Forest have now sadly missed out on the talented midfielder.
Over the past few days, speculation linking Aribo to Southampton has intensified.
And now, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Saints are set to complete the move today.
“Medical tests ongoing for Joe Aribo ahead of his move to Southampton,” he wrote on Twitter.
“All set to be completed and signed today afternoon.
“Done deal for £6m plus add-ons to £10m package to Rangers. Here we go confirmed.”
Forest have done superbly in the summer transfer window so far.
However, they could do with bolstering their midfield ranks further.
And Aribo would’ve been a superb signing for the Reds, a top talent available at a bargain price.
“He is a fantastic kid,” Steven Gerrard said of Aribo last year.
“You can’t get him off the training pitch, he’s always working on his game.”
Aribo has developed into an “all-round top midfielder” following his move from Charlton in 2019.
It’s a shame Forest won’t get him, but there’s still plenty of time for them to look for alternatives.
