Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos but face competition from the Gunners’ last 32 Europa League opponents Olympiacos – and Forest fans have reacted on Twitter.
Greek outlet Sporttime have claimed that 22-year-old defender Mavropanos is being eyed by Forest, but that Olympiacos are also keen. The uncapped Greek defender has only managed one appearance for Arsenal this season.
Forest have plenty of options at centre-back, six in fact. Michael Dawson, Joe Worrall, Tobias Figueiredo, Yohan Benalouane, Chema and Michael Hefele. But Chema is expected to leave, while Dawson and Benalouane’s contracts expire in the summer.

Sabri Lamouchi is seemingly keen to bring a new central defender to The City Ground and Mavropanos is the most likely option. Since joining Arsenal from Greek side PAS Giannina for £2.2million (Sun) in January 2018, he has struggled.
Indeed, Mavropanos has only managed eight senior appearances for the Gunners in two years, despite the north London side struggling at centre-back. He has failed to break into a side over the struggling David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi.
Nottingham Forest fans have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Mavropanos is a January transfer target, with a loan deal expected to be the course of action. Many Forest fans believe he would be a good signing.
