Nottingham Forest fans praise Yuri Ribeiro’s performance in defeat against Arsenal

Nottingham Forest were dumped out of the EFL Cup last night after a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

It was a tough night for a Forest side who have made a decent start to the season under Sabri Lamouchi but found it too much against a home side full of players looking to prove themselves to Unai Emery.

Arsenal are generally formidable at home and Forest will not be the last side to leave north London without a goal and a defeat to their name.

But on the night, Yuri Ribeiro was the brightest spark in a team performance which probably didn’t deserve to be on the end of a 5-0 drubbing.

When Ribeiro took to Twitter to thank the supporters after the match, they were keen to show their appreciation for a performance which was higher than that of the team as a whole.

More than one said he was Forest’s best player and urged him to continue it on when league action resumes on Friday night against struggling Stoke City.

Being able to mix it against Premier League players is a fair indication of his quality and that’s eventually where Forest want to end up after all…
