Nottingham Forest fans praise Michael Dawson for latest performance

Nottingham Forest recorded a 1-1 away draw against Charlton Athletic on Wednesday night – and some of the club’s supporters hailed their defender Michael Dawson for his performance.

The Reds went behind to Lyle Taylor’s first-half goal, but earned a point in the Championship due to  an equaliser from substitute Albert Adomah.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side sit 13th in the league standings after the opening four fixtures and did well to gain a point off an unbeaten Charlton side that have started the season strongly.

Forest travel to Fulham on Saturday in their next match and will be looking to build some early-season momentum.

A selection of Forest supporters on social media picked out captain Dawson for his individual contribution in midweek and feel he was a real standout.

The 35-year-old is an experienced defender that returned to the City Ground last summer, after leaving the club back in 2005 to join Tottenham.

He’s a dependable centre-back that has played at a high level and brings real leadership plus experience to the Reds backline.

Dawson made some crucial interceptions and blocks to nullify the Charlton threat, while he’s also striking up a solid combination next to centre-back partner Joe Worrall.
