Nottingham Forest fans hail Lewis Grabban performance

Lewis Grabban helped Nottingham Forest move to the top of the Championship on Friday night with their win over Stoke City – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter raved about his performance.

Sabri Lamouchi saw his side secure a 3-2 away victory at Stoke and it means they go into the weekend top of the league.

Forest found themselves behind after just 10 minuets when Lee Gregory put the hosts in front, but responded with three goals by the hour mark.

Joe Lolley drew the Reds level after punishing a Jack Butland mistake and Sammy Ameobi then netted a brilliant header short after half-time.

Grabban then scored what turned out to be the winning goal in the 61st minute, as he reacted quickly in the penalty area and scored on the spin.

The 31-year-old has made a career out of poaching in the box and it’s where the centre-forward comes alive.

He also showed the other side of his game in a tough fixture away to Stoke, as his work-rate was clear with countless runs forward and he had to battle hard for large spells when isolated.

A selection of Forest fans picked out Grabban for special praise following his efforts on Friday in Stoke.

He’s now up to five goals in nine league appearances so far this season and it looks like he’s going to be spearheading a promotion bid at the City Ground.
