Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in luring on-loan Celtic defender Shane Duffy back down south and into the English Championship after a poor start in Scotland – and Forest fans have reacted on Twitter.
Duffy, 29, had fallen out of favour at Brighton after the arrival of Graham Potter as manager saw Brighton switch from a defensively-solid side under Chris Hughton – favouring Duffy – to a ball-playing side.
It saw Celtic move to bring the Ireland captain north of the border, but given that Celtic are also a possession-based side playing with a high defensive block, he has struggled. A January return to the south coast has been mooted.

Now, The Sun claimed Celtic have been offered the chance to cut their losses and cancel Duffy’s loan – with Hughton looking to form a reunion in the Championship at the City Ground. He cost the Hoops a seven-figure loan fee.
Forest already have numerous options at centre-back but in-form defender and ex-Rangers man Joe Worrall has been linked with an exit, impressing in his 12 games this season. It would have been more, but for a positive test.
Forest supporters think that given the club are said to be pursuing a move for Duffy – many think that 24-year-old Worrall could be on the way out and that the Celtic loanee is coming in to replace him.
