Nottingham Forest could sign 'terrific' midfielder for just £10m, he's been compared to Vieira
Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a fruitful transfer window, bringing in 11 new signings with another reportedly on the way.
The roll call of Reds summer signings reads: Taiwo Awoniyi, Neco Williams, Moussa Niakhate, Giulian Biancone, Omar Richards, Lewis O’Brien, Harry Toffolo, Brandon Aguilera, Jesse Lingard, Wayne Hennessey and Dean Henderson.
Forest are now reportedly set to bring in Orel Mangala from Stuttgart as well.
The 24-year-old is a much-needed addition in midfield for Steve Cooper’s side.
Then, it remains to be seen whether Forest will call it a day in the transfer window or pursue more targets.
On Friday, 90Min linked the Reds with another superb midfielder – and he’s one they shouldn’t pass up on.
The online outlet claimed Forest have recently made enquiries for Rangers star Glen Kamara.
The Gers reportedly want just £10million for the Finland international – an absolute bargain.
Kamara is one of Rangers’ key players, registering 158 competitive appearances since his move in January 2019.
The 26-year-old joined the Ibrox outfit for just £50,000 from fellow Scottish side Dundee.
“Probably the best 50 grand Rangers have ever spent,” Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge told GiveMeSport in 2021.
“Ten minutes was all it took”
In 2019, former Dundee boss Neil McCann spoke of how stunned he was after seeing Kamara in action in a trial training session.
“He was like a mini Patrick Vieira the way he got about the pitch,” he told the Daily Record.
“He’d fling the big leg across, he’d change direction, you couldn’t get the ball off him.
“He was strong, he took the ball anywhere he wanted to really.
“I thought, ‘Right, let’s get this deal done’. So we took him in and got it done. Ten minutes was all it took.
“It didn’t take me long to realise this boy was going to be a player and he’s just gone on from there to get better and better.”
In 2020, The Athletic wrote: “He is a playmaker who can dictate from deep.
“Someone who can break up play and, although he may not show it as often as he could, can drive with the ball and show quick feet.
“He is a player whose understated style means he may always be the bridesmaid.
“But, while he may now be getting the individual recognition his guile deserves, the one thing those who have coached or played with him agree is that every team needs a Glen Kamara.”
At just 26, there is a feeling Kamara might well have his best seasons ahead of him.
So Nottingham Forest should look to strike a deal and bring the “terrific” talent to the City Ground.
