TBR Football can confirm that Nottingham Forest want to strike a deal for a fourth signing this weekend after James McAtee, Omari Hutchinson and Arnaud Kalimuendo.
The Reds are having a fine summer. Not only have they made it into the Europa League at the expense of Crystal Palace, but they have retained the services of their biggest star, Morgan Gibbs-White, as well.
Now, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are closing in on moves for Manchester City’s McAtee, Ipswich Town attacker Hutchinson and Rennes star Kalimuendo.
TBR can confirm that Evangelos Marinakis is not done just yet.

Nottingham Forest advancing on Douglas Luiz after James McAtee, Omari Hutchinson and Arnaud Kalimuendo deals
TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, understands that Nottingham Forest are working hard to finalise a move for Douglas Luiz as they look to splash out nearly £100 million on four players this weekend.
Forest are trying to beat Premier League rivals, including Everton, to the signing of the ‘unbelievable‘ Brazilian midfielder, who Juventus are pushing towards the exit door.
TBR revealed that Forest were trying to sign Luiz – with Edu Gaspar, who tried to get him at Arsenal, pushing hard to land him for the Reds. Sources have now told us that they are advancing.
Forest are also closing in on deals to bring in James McAtee, Omari Hutchinson and Arnaud Kalimuendo.
McAtee is set to arrive in a deal worth £30 million from Manchester City, whilst an agreement has been reached with Ipswich for Hutchinson at £37.5 million. Stade Rennes in France have accepted a £26 million offer for Kalimuendo from the Reds.
Forest hope to put McAtee, Hutchinson and Kalimuendo through medicals ahead of their opening Premier League game against Brentford on Saturday, while talks to sign Luiz are also progressing.
Bailey told TBR: “I can confirm that Nottingham Forest expect at least three deals this weekend, possibly four.
“They are really, really happy with McAtee, Hutchinson and Kalimuendo – they are not done yet, but they are very close. The club are thoroughly delighted to get them – young, dynamic attacking players.
“When they lost Anthony Elanga, the message was clear from Forest’s hierarchy to their fans – ‘trust us, we know what we are doing’ – and it is hard to argue that point now.
“They are also hopeful over Douglas Luiz, and to add that to Dan Ndoye, Igor Jesus, Jair Cunha and a new deal for Morgan Gibbs-White, I honestly believe that Forest are in contention to win this window.”
What Nuno Espirito Santo told Nottingham Forest before he signed his new contract
Santo has done an incredible job since taking charge of Forest.
The former Wolves and Tottenham boss helped the Reds avoid relegation in the 2023/24 campaign and followed it up with a seventh-place finish in the Premier League last season.
Santo was rewarded with a new contract in June as a result. Before he put pen to paper, he made an exciting claim to the Forest hierarchy.
Bailey told TBR: “Nuno, before signing his new deal, told Forest he could get them into the Champions League, and this is showing that.
“If they can get these four deals over the line, it is staggeringly good work.”
