‘Nothing short of brilliant’, ‘going to be a baller’: Some Spurs fans hail 19-year-old striker’s U23s display today

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to praise Kion Etete’s efforts for Spurs U23s in today’s Premier League 2 clash.

The 19-year-old joined Tottenham in 2019 from Notts County and has been impressing for the North Londoners at age level.

Etete has made 15 appearances for Spurs in the Premier League 2 this season, registering six goals and one assist.

On Friday, Tottenham’s U23s extended their unbeaten league run to six games by playing out a 1-1 draw with their Blackburn counterparts at Hotspur Way.

Spurs controlled proceedings for much of the first half and were rewarded on the stroke of half time as Etete poked home from close range.

However, Wayne Burnett’s charges found themselves a man down just before the interval, captain Brooklyn Lyons-Foster being sent off.

Blackburn then equalised through a Samuel Burns penalty and, though Etete and J’Neill Bennett came close for Spurs in the second half, the final whistle saw a share of the spoils.

The game finished with both sides down to ten men, opposing skipper Samuel Barnes being shown a red card on 88 minutes.

And Etete once again stood out thanks to his latest goal, prompting some Spurs fans to praise the 6ft 5in marksman on social media:
