‘Nothing done yet’: Fabrizio Romano offers Arsenal update on Folarin Balogun

Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has offered a worrying update for Arsenal fans when it comes to the future of Folarin Balogun.

The young striker has broken into the first-team picture this term but is, as yet, to agree to fresh terms on a contract with his current deal set to expire this summer.

Balogun is highly-thought of by manager Mikel Arteta and has been given a number of opportunities this term already. In fact, Arteta has spoken today of his desire to see the young striker sign a new deal as quickly as possible.

And speaking on the situation, respected journalist Romano took to Twitter to offer some further clarity on the situation surrounding Balogun.

Romano’s comments will come as a worry for Arsenal fans, who are keen to see Balogun progress further and eventually become a mainstay in the Gunners XI.

The youngster has already got off the mark this season, with two goals in the Europa League and one in the EFL Trophy.

Balogun is definitely one of the best young players in the Gunners squad and they really need to be doing all they can to keep him.

It would be a bitter blow for Arteta if they did lose him, especially when the Arsenal boss has managed to start incorporating his young talents into the first-team of late.

Hopefully, Balogun can be convinced to stay. He is still a young man afterall and his chances, whether now or in the future, will come.
