Lens manager Franck Haise has now given his verdict on his side’s performance in their 6-0 thrashing against Arsenal last night.
Haise was understandably disappointed with the performance, one that was unrecognisable from a win against Arsenal in the reverse fixture.

And whilst Lens should be praised for sticking to their philosophy and not sitting in a low block, Haise may now have some regrets.
Speaking via RMC Sport, Haise said: “We are in the Champions League, we have managed most of the time until now to be at the level of these matches.
“Today, we were not on too many aspects, in particular our strong point which is our central defence, in difficulty on the first four goals for lots of reasons.
“But it’s not just them. It’s experience, these are not very nice moments to experience.
“If someone had told me a few years ago that we were going to take 6-0 in the Champions League, I would have said: let’s have this experience.”
On the other hand, it was another well-needed performance for Arsenal, one that reminded of their creative strengths.
Mikel Arteta’s side are now often faced by teams sitting deep, but enjoyed a rare night of freedom.
Franck Haise was still proud of Lens despite heavy Arsenal defeat
Speaking of timely reminders, Gabriel Jesus showed his excellent calibre to Arsenal fans once again.
Blighted by a knee injury over the last year or so, Arteta will now be praying that his centre-forward can leave those issues behind.

Several top players thought Jesus’ performance was outstanding yesterday, one that bodes well for the future.
And despite his showing, one pundit was still convinced that Arsenal need to urgently sign a striker.
Gabby Agbonlahor was certain that Ivan Toney would still improve this Arsenal side, one in need of his goals.
But those of an Arsenal persuasion will probably be pretty comfortable with the trajectory of their squad right now.
An Arsenal squad capable of dispatching Franck Haise’s formidable Lens side.
Arteta’s team will head into this weekend’s tie with Wolves full of confidence, and Jesus will be aiming to be among the goals again.
