Liverpool take on Norwich City in the Carabao Cup tomorrow but assistant manager, Pep Lijnders, says that Bobby Firmino will not be playing.
The £29m signing has been missing from action of late and some were hoping to see the Brazilian back against the Canaries. However, Firmino is not going to be taking part, with Lijnders confirming the news today.

Speaking ahead of the clash with Norwich, Lijnders confirmed the news in what will be a blow for manager Jurgen Klopp.
“Bobby will do parts of team training but also not ready. But progressing well. And Neco is progressing well as well. [For him] tomorrow also comes too early,” Lijnders said in the latest Liverpool presser.
The Reds will no doubt be changing things up a tad. The likes of Curtis Jones will get some minutes in the tank, while Divock Origi could also get another chance up top.
In defence, Ibrahima Konate made his debut at the weekend and could well keep his place for the cup clash.
TBR’s View: No point in rushing, Liverpool have enough quality
Winning trophies is big for any club but Liverpool have enough in their squad to see off Norwich without rushing Firmino back.
The Brazilian is, of course, a key figure in the squad. If he’s fit, he gives the Reds a superb option with his class and ability at the top of the pitch.
But in Origi – who did well last time out – and the likes of Jones, Milner, and more all waiting in the wings, Klopp does have depth in the squad.
