Wolves winger, Adama Traore, has spoken briefly about a potential return to Barcelona but is adamant he is solely concentrated on life at Molineux at the moment.
The Spain winger, known for his power and pace in wide areas, played for his country last night and delivered an impressive performance off the bench for Jose Enrique’s men.
And given his performances for Wolves, talk has been almost constant about a return to Barcelona. However, Traore has insisted that he is focused firmly on Wolves for the moment.
“It’s not my decision whether I would suit Barcelona. My mentality is to work every day to be better,” Traore said. (quotes from Goal)
Talk has intensified of late given his friendship with Barca youngster, Ansu Fati. But Traore has played that down, insisting their discussions aren’t just about the Catalan club.
“We talk about everything,” he said. “Even some more general topics because I have been at the club for many years and so has he. We met in the academy and have spoken about things to do with the team, the things that we happened together at Barcelona. We know each other well,” Traore added.
Wolves fans, then, will be pleased to see Traore almost ignoring the links of a move to the Camp Nou. However, it would be interesting to see what the winger’s stance would be should a concrete bid arrive next summer.
Traore key, but you couldn’t begrudge him Barca move – TBR View
The winger’s rise has been brilliant and he is now such a key player for Wolves that it’s hard to imagine the team without him.
But a move to Barcelona is a chance a lot of players don’t get. He’ll also feel like he has unfinished business with the club, having moved away from the Nou Camp as a youngster.
Wolves will be desperate to keep Traore but, on the other hand, they’ll also be able to command a huge fee if he does ever leave.
