Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has waxed lyrical about Brendan Rodgers, a “very talented” and “creative” manager whose heroics haven’t come as a surprise to the Spurs boss.
The Northern Irishman has been impressive since taking the reins at the King Power Stadium, helping his side to a top-half finish in 2018-19 before coming fifth last season.
Indeed, the Foxes were in the title race earlier that season and were in line for a top-four finish, only for a final-day defeat to Manchester United to dash their hopes of a Champions League place.

Despite that blow, Leicester have hit the ground running this season, and are currently fourth in the standings, just four points behind leaders Liverpool.
On Sunday, the Foxes head to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to face Mourinho’s charges, who were knocked off top spot in the table by the Reds in midweek.
It will be the eighth meeting between Mourinho and Rodgers, who worked under the Portuguese at Chelsea and is yet to get the better of his former colleague.
When asked by Football London whether he was impressed by Rodgers’ efforts, Mourinho replied: “I’m not impressed, I know how good he is.
“When I met him as a young coach in the academy, and coming to join us in the first team and sharing with us many moments, I understood that he was a young guy with a great future.
“So anything he’s doing in his career is not a surprise for me, not at all. He’s very talented, he was and probably still is a guy who likes to study, learn and improve.
“He’s creative, he knows what he wants. He’s a very good coach. Period. He’s a very good coach so it’s not a surprise for me.”
TBR View:
Rodgers has done superbly at Leicester since his arrival and, although they only just missed out on the Champions League last season, their standards haven’t slipped and they’re doing well this time round too.
As fixtures go, however, away at a Tottenham side desperate to get back to winning ways after their midweek defeat is a tough call, so it’ll be an exciting battle between two superb coaches and two teams flying high in the table.
