Ally McCoist has now claimed that Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka simply wouldn’t get a start in Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City team.
McCoist was speaking on talkSPORT this morning and was asked how many players in the Premier League would get into this current Man City team.

The pundit only mentioned two Arsenal players as a possibility, also adding Declan Rice in the mix.
And whilst McCoist was uncertain about Rice, he was pretty adamant that Arsenal’s Saka wouldn’t get in this City side.
McCoist said (8/11, 7:40am): “What a question that is! Salah, right Salah gets in. I mean I love Foden, but Salah gets into the side.
The pundit then debated a choice between Alisson and Ederson before considering the Arsenal players.
He continued: “I think Declan Rice is getting in, when Rodri doesn’t play last night Declan Rice gets in, and I don’t think there would be an awful lot between Rodri and Declan Rice to be honest with you, so there’s a potential for Rice.
“Van Dijk maybe at the back, not sure, not sure that he gets in at the back.
“Son, up front, I like Son but maybe not really.
“Saka, he’s not getting in before Salah, so you’re maybe looking at two or three.”
McCoist thinks Saka would struggle to get a start for Arsenal’s league rivals City
Of course, as well as being shocked by his stance on Saka, Arsenal fans will probably be surprised that Ally McCoist didn’t mention William Saliba.
City do have a stellar defence, but Saliba has proven himself as one of the top centre-backs in the league.

Either way, it does delineate the task at hand for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta trying to pip Man City to a league title.
Guardiola’s side almost have an embarrassment of riches in their squad, which is a few years ahead of Arsenal.
And whilst those associated with Arsenal are debating the merits of Eddie Nketiah continuing to lead the line, Erling Haaland is scoring a brace in the Champions League.
McCoist’s opinion may not be popular among Arsenal fans, but they will admit that there’s only a handful of players from their side including Saka that even have a shout of starting for City.
It’s certainly an interesting debate.
Nonetheless, the important thing for Arsenal right now is producing a improved display against Sevilla tonight.
