Arsenal have been linked with so many strikers heading into the January transfer window.
The likes of Ivan Toney, Dusan Vlahovic and Victor Osimhen have all been linked, but, for numerous reasons, all of those transfers are said to be unlikely.
Osimhen and Toney are set to be too expensive, while Vlahovic is potentially set to sign a new contract with Juventus soon.
Speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, Dean Jones has been discussing Arsenal’s pursuit of a new striker, and he says that if the Gunners do indeed end up signing a new centre-forward in January it could well be a player who hasn’t even been mentioned yet.

Arsenal could sign mystery striker
Jones shared what he knows about Arsenal.
“Benjamin Sesko was linked last week to Arsenal, again, I find it difficult to believe that he will leave in the January market,” Jones said.
“So, I think if Arsenal do end up signing a striker, it might end up being somebody who’s not even been mentioned up to this point.”
Not easy
The January market is difficult to navigate at the best of times, but the striker market is absolutely awful right now.
As you can imagine, top clubs don’t want to let their leading goalscorers leave halfway through a season, and many of the options linked to Arsenal probably won’t leave this winter.
As Jones says though, there are always these hidden gems that come out of the woodwork unexpectedly, and with Edu and Mikel Arteta hard at work, we wouldn’t be shocked at all if Arsenal did manage to spring a surprise and land a striker in January that isn’t currently on people’s radars.
Arsenal are always an intriguing side to watch in any transfer window, and it sounds as though they will also be busy next month.
