Jonson Clarke-Harris was not on his way to Ibrox to sign for Glasgow Rangers last night, according to Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony.
No Ibrox move… yet
The Daily Record have suggested that Clarke-Harris would be keen to join Rangers this summer.
The striker, who hit 31 goals last season, has still not appeared for Posh over pre-season and his absence began to cause some concern last night.
However, MacAnthony insisted that a move to Rangers was not imminent for his side’s star man yesterday evening.
MacAnthony has not ruled out a sale for Clarke-Harris before, but Rangers would surely have to pay big money for the striker.
Clarke-Harris fired Posh into the Championship last term, which has reduced their need to sell the £5 million-rated forward (Bristol Post) to raise funds.
If he was to move to Rangers he would be an exciting addition to Steven Gerrard’s side though.
Rangers are thought to be on the hunt for a new number nine, as they look to add competition for places with the likes of Alfredo Morelos up-front.
