Norwich City will be looking to make their home advantage count as the Canaries welcome Sunderland to Carrow Road in today’s early kick-off. Ahead of an integral relegation six pointer for both sides, the visitors have failed to win in any of their previous five matches, despite picking up five draws, while the hosts have experienced improved form, with two wins and one draw.

Below are the confirmed starting line-ups:

Norwich City – Ruddy; Wisdom, Bennett, Bassong, Olsson; Jarvis, Howson, O’Neil (c), Brady; Naismith; Mbokani

Sunderland – Mannone, Yedlin, van Aanholt, Kaboul, Kone, Kirchhoff, M’Vila, Cattermole, Borini, Khazri, Defoe

With just four points seperating the two side’s ahead of kick-off, Norwich can be confident that a victory will send them a long way on the path to Premier League safety – and previous results certainly fall in their favour. Considering the Canaries have won five of the last six meetings with Sunderland at Carrow Road, Alex Neil’s men will be assured in their hopes of continuing their positive run.

Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe will be out to spoil the Norwich’s near-perfect record. The Englishman has scored 12 Premier League goals this season, including an impressive nine in 13 away games; no other player currently in their squad has scored more than three. However, considering the Black Cats have kept just one clean sheet in their last 17 Premier League away games, it’s likely that they would have to score more than once to win this one.
