A number of Norwich City fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Telegraph reported that Everton had confirmed their interest in Ben Godfrey by making a bid for the centre-back.
It has probably not been the easiest summer for the Canaries. Daniel Farke’s men looked set to face a battle to keep a number of their best players who impressed in the Premier League last term.
As it stands, Jamal Lewis has been the only really high-profile departure from Carrow Road. And that could mean one of two things.
It either means that Norwich are likely to keep more of their key players than many expected. Or there is likely to be a number of departures in quick succession right at the end of the window.
Unfortunately for the Canaries, the latter looks slightly more likely now that Everton have made a £26 million bid for Godfrey. According to The Telegraph, the Toffees have offered £20 million up front plus add-ons for the 22-year-old.
Godfrey has actually started all three of Norwich’s league games this term. Nevertheless, it would appear that several supporters seem to feel that it may be a move that suits all parties.
A number of fans have suggested that Everton would be a great move for Godfrey. And it is claimed by some that the fee would represent good business for Norwich also.
Here is how some of the supporters have reacted to the bid reports…

Can’t really moan at that potential transfer fee for Godfrey at all. Just increasingly scary that we are potentially looking at losing all the young gems and I suspect with so little time left in transfer window no replacements coming in #ncfc

#EFC would be a great move for Godfrey. Personally don’t think he’s nearly good enough yet, but he’s definitely go the potential to do very well under Ancelotti. Makes much more sense than Jamal’s move to me. #ncfc

I really don’t want to lose Ben Godfrey, he took some stick last season but I thought he was outstanding, to deal with being the only fit CB for most of the season at such a young age was class, great attitude too doubt he’ll throw the toys out #ncfc

Everton would be a class move for Ben Godfrey. Fair enough if that one happens #ncfc
