Norwich fans applaud Leeds-linked Todd Cantwell's performance against Birmingham
Todd Cantwell was handed just his third start of the Championship season on Tuesday night as Norwich City earned a narrow 1-0 win over Birmingham after the Blues went down to 10 men – and Norwich fans have applauded the reported Leeds target.
Cantwell, 22, was given his first Norwich outing in more than a month despite no injury – with speculation over his future expected to have played a part in his absence. It was just his third appearance for Norwich, in their sixth league game.
Norwich earned all three points at Carrow Road thanks to a 1-0 win. Following Adam Clayton’s second yellow card at Carrow Road, Croatian midfielder Mario Vrancic came off the bench to score the only goal of the game in the 87th minute.
Leeds chief Victor Orta told the YEP towards the end of the domestic window that Leeds had analysed Cantwell and hinted that they could look again in January: “We analyse all the players. We know them really well, their clubs were our rivals.
Great to be on the pitch tonight, wasn’t as sharp as I’d like but I’m building. Massive win, bring on Saturday 💛💚@NorwichCityFC

“We analysed [Cantwell] in the Premier League. But it’s like a lot of players we’ve analysed. It’s difficult. They are players we analysed, we have information and then we need to think about the possibility. That could be useful for the winter market.”
The Whites, meanwhile, failed to bring in an attacking midfielder – with Michael Cuisance’s failing a medical over a £20million move from Bayern Munich. The Frenchman has since joined Marseille on a loan-to-buy deal.
Norwich supporters discussed Cantwell’s performance in what was his first game back since being linked with a move to Elland Road in the summer window – and many applauded his efforts as he seemingly proved the difference.
Too drawer performance. Keep it up and you will be back in the premier league by next summer – as a Norwich player!

You were MOTM mate. If that's not as sharp as you'd like, I can't wait to see what's coming! Thanks for staying!
