Leeds United are reportedly looking to raid Norwich City for playmaker Todd Cantwell as Marcelo Bielsa looks to add an attacking midfielder to his side – and Norwich supporters are all for the Whites signing the England youth international.
Cantwell, 22, caught the eye in the Premier League last season – proving to be one of Norwich’s most influential players despite the club suffering relegation. He had a hand in nine goals during his 40 league and cup appearances for the Canaries.
Despite playing in Norwich’s first two Championship fixtures, the England Under-21 ace was left out of the Canaries’ 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday amid reports he could be on his way to Elland Road for a fee of £15million.
The Daily Mail have claimed that Leeds are keen to sign Cantwell and are willing to splash te eight-figure fee to sign Cantwell. Bielsa is desperate to bring in an attacking midfielder to finally find a permanent partner for Mateusz Klich.
Indeed, Pablo Hernandez is injured and Tyler Roberts started alongside Klich on Sunday – before the Wales international was hooked at half-time and replaced by Rodrigo. Cantwell could be the man to finally plug that gap.
Norwich supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Cantwell could be on his way to Leeds and it appears that fans are happy to see the back of Cantwell – who has the same agent as Eddie Nketiah and Ian Poveda (TransferMarkt).
