Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill predicts that Jordan Jones will continue to impress for Rangers, The Daily Record reports. O’Neill rates Jones very highly as a player and has tipped him to take his career to the next level at Ibrox.
As reported by The Daily Record, O’Neill said: “It’s no surprise to me that Jordan has had a positive impact since he joined Rangers because he is a terrific player. There are areas he needs to improve on that we have talked to him consistently about but he has the capabilities to get fans on the edge of their seats.”
Jones joined Rangers from Kilmarnock this summer after signing a pre-contract agreement last season. The 9-cap Northern Ireland international has not nailed down a starting spot yet but has impressed when called upon.

O’Neill believes Jones made the right decision to trade Kilmarnock for Rangers. The Northern Ireland boss thinks that this can help Jones take his game to the next level for both club and country.
He added: “The move to Ibrox is one that will give Jordan the opportunity to kick on. I think he can develop into a top, top player at Rangers. He is confident and positive and likes the big stage. The bigger the game the more Jordan seems to revel in it.”
TBR’s view
Jones has drifted in and out of the starting line-up since moving from Kilmarnock. But with other wingers competing for the role, this might not be a bad thing. It pushes Jones on and helps squeeze the best out of him.
The 24-year-old has the ability to become a Rangers star if he can find his consistency. He is well-positioned to kick on now as he knows the Scottish Premiership well. This will benefit both Rangers and the Northern Irish national side.
