Northampton fans react to display of Tottenham loanee Kion Etete

A number of Northampton Town fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Kion Etete after the Tottenham Hotspur loanee scored his third goal for the club in League Two on Tuesday.

Etete has started to find some form with the Cobblers. He had previously endured a difficult start to life on loan. The 19-year-old had reached double figures for league appearances without a goal.

However, he now has three in his last six in the league. And the latest was a superb finish.

Etete – who had already had a hand in Northampton’s opening goal, playing the ball through for Jon Guthrie – volleyed home a cross from Mitchell Pinnock for what proved to be the decisive goal in the 2-1 win.

It was a delightful finish from the teenager. Certainly, plenty of Tottenham fans lauded the academy prospect on social media following the victory.

And the Northampton supporters were full of praise for his goal and performance.

Several suggested that he was the standout player for the home side at Sixfields. And they are excited about what the future holds for the forward now that Northampton are starting to see the best of him.

Some have expressed a desire for the club to try and sign him on a permanent basis. They are clearly hoping that his form is not quite enough to earn him an opportunity at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium upon his return.

They would certainly love to hold onto him beyond his loan.
