A number of Northampton Town fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that the club confirmed on their official website concerning Leeds United youngster Ryan Edmondson.
Edmondson has become the latest player to join the Cobblers. The 19-year-old has arrived on loan for the rest of the season having spent the first-half of the campaign elsewhere.
The striker has long been considered one of the brightest prospects at Elland Road. He made a massive impression after arriving as a 16-year-old. And he made his debut shortly before his 17th birthday.
In truth, it is a surprise that he has not featured for the first-team more regularly. But Marcelo Bielsa seems to be taking his time with the forward.
He was given the green light to join Aberdeen on loan in the summer. Edmondson scored twice during his time with the Dons.
Unfortunately, he only managed to make a handful of starts for Derek McInnes’s side. That prompted Leeds to bring him back when his loan ended this month before swiftly sending the striker to Sixfields.
And the news has gone down incredibly amongst Northampton fans. Some clearly think that the Leeds forward could really help Keith Curle’s men pull further away from the relegation places.
There are concerns about whether Curle will get the best out of him. But they seem optimistic that Edmondson has the potential to be a very good loan signing.
Here is how some of the fans have reacted to the Leeds youngster’s arrival…
