‘Noooo’: Some Liverpool fans worry Jurgen Klopp will field player out of position against Arsenal

Liverpool have confirmed that Kostas Tsimikas is sidelined for the Reds’ League Cup encounter with Arsenal at Anfield.

The Liverpool newcomer made his competitive debut in the third round of the League Cup, playing the full 90 minutes in the 7-2 win at Lincoln.

However, he wasn’t in the matchday squad against the Gunners on Monday night and was also a notable absentee in training this week.

Pep Lijnders, who covered the pre-match presser, confirmed that Tsimikas will not be available for selection due to a thigh problem which he hasn’t yet overcome.

“We thought it would settle, it didn’t, so he will need more time,” Klopp’s assistant told the Liverpool media team. “He will not be involved on Thursday and also not on Sunday.”

With Andrew Robertson not expected to play in a much-changed Liverpool line-up, some Reds fans reckon James Milner will be named at left-back.

The 34-year-old played most of the 2016-17 season there, also featuring sporadically in the position before and after that season, with seven games at left-back last term.

Although Milner hasn’t done badly there, it’s still not ideal, particularly against an Arsenal side boasting a strong attack, and some Liverpool fans weren’t too happy:
