The winger ranked some of the best players in the game today, and he put Trent Alexander-Arnold in the top-half of his list.

The Liverpool right-back is undoubtedly a supreme talent, and Madueke clearly thinks a lot of him.

Madueke put Alexander-Arnold ahead of some truly world-class players, including Ilkay Gundogan.

Indeed, Madueke put the former Manchester City captain one spot lower than Alexander-Arnold in his list.

Is Trent Alexander-Arnold better than Ilkay Gundogan?

Comparing Alexander-Arnold and Gundogan is like comparing apples and oranges. One is a marauding right-back, and the other is a box-to-box midfielder.

However, with that being said, on pure talent alone, these two are very hard to separate.

Yes, Alexander-Arnold may look like more of a natural when it comes to ball-striking, but Gundogan is one of the smartest players you’re likely to ever see.

There’s a reason the German was the captain of a treble-winning side last season, he has it all and he’s absolutely incredible.

Alexander-Arnold may be better in terms of what he can produce in a single moment, but in terms of being a team player, being consistent and being a leader, there aren’t many players on the planet who can come close to Gundogan.

It is very difficult to compare these two are they’re both fantastic in their own rights.

Regardless of who you prefer, it has to be said that both Alexander-Arnold and Gundogan are truly world-class players.
