Noel Whelan has told BBC Radio Leeds (broadcast on 2/11; 16:45) that Leeds United produced an all-round great performance as they beat Queens Park Rangers 2-0 to move back to the top of the Championship.
Leeds have returned to the summit of the second tier after beating Mark Warburton’s men 2-0 at Elland Road. It was Tyler Roberts who bagged the winning goal towards the end of the first-half.

The Wales international received the ball on the edge of the box after some good work from Jack Harrison. And he managed to find the back of the net with a neat finish past Liam Kelly.
Leeds continued to control the large majority of the game after the break. Patrick Bamford put the ball into the net, but his header was ruled out when the offside flag went up.
And they made the game safe late on with Harrison doubling the lead to round off a brilliant performance for the winger who has faced a lot of criticism this term.

It looks to have been a hugely important three points for Leeds. QPR look to have the potential to be an incredibly dangerous team in the promotion race this season.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men have not alleviated all of the fans’ concerns. It looked set to be another nervy finish for the Whites before Harrison doubled the lead.
But it looks to be a big win. And after the game, Whelan offered his thoughts about the performance to BBC Radio Leeds.
“It’s always the same. Usually, you’ve got to win your individual battles, earn the right to get into the game. And once Leeds United did that, they started commanding the tempo and just dictating play and opening them at will at times. The energy there today, the creativity, the defending, trying to keep that clean sheet, it was just an all-round great performance from everybody, even the substitutes,” he said.
