Arsenal will be hoping to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners have gotten off to a great start so far this season, but, as ever, it almost feels like things could easily come crashing down.
We’ve seen at Tottenham this week how injuries and suspensions can quickly ravage a team, and speaking on the Premier League All Access Podcast, Scott Minto has claimed that there’s one player Arsenal can’t afford to lose – Bukayo Saka.
Minto says that Saka is so important to this Arsenal team and that he needs to be managed carefully, claiming that there’s nobody who can replace him if he were to go down injured.

Saka irreplaceable
Minto spoke about the attacker.
“Yeah absolutely, we’ve had this discussion for a long time, and I know a few Arsenal fans who are ex-players, and they say they don’t know why he’s played on. He’s so important to the team. As good as Arsenal are, if Saka gets a long-term injury, nobody can quite replace him,” Arteta said.
Double-edged sword
This is such a difficult situation for Mikel Arteta to manage.
We can understand what Minto is saying in that Saka needs to be managed carefully, but, at the same time, if a player is irreplaceable, surely you want him in the team every single week?
It’s probably for the best that Saka is taken out of the team every so often, but, at the same time, if he’s so irreplaceable, how can you afford to take him out of the side?
Managing players like this is so tough. You need to protect them for their own good, but you need them in the starting XI for the sake of the team.
Let’s just hope that Saka can avoid serious injury for as long as possible.
