Nobby Solano identifies three dream signings for Newcastle’s soon-to-be new owners

Nobby Solano has identified his three dream signings as a takeover is reportedly set to be announced this week, during a Q&A interview with Newcastle United fan and writer Steve Wraith on his official YouTube channel.

A takeover is edging closer with Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie stating there are only two things left to be completed, the Premier League to finish their final checks and the transferral of funds to Mike Ashley.

Rumours on Twitter suggest a takeover could be completed in the next few days, but that remains to be seen. Plenty of talk has been had over who the new owners could sign in the coming months, with The Toon linked with a whole host of stars.

Newcastle icon Solano was asked by a fan on Wraith’s YouTube channel to name three players to form the spine of a new Newcastle team, and the Peru assistant manager picked PSG duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe – and Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

“I would love to see Neymar, Harry Kane – he is a proper striker, reminds me very much of Alan Shearer and for sure, Mbappe is a superstar. If you want to win the league, you need quality players,” Solano said.

TBR’s view – Surely all three are out of Newcastle’s reach?

Even with all the money in the world, Newcastle’s new owners simply cannot go out and sign who they want for two crucial reasons. Firstly, the likes of Mbappe, Neymar or Kane would hardly join a side not in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Financial Fairplay will prevent Newcastle from spending enormous amounts of money – with Neymar, Mbappe and Kane easily costing hundreds of millions of pounds. But as dream signings go, Solano could not have picked much better.
