'No way', 'No no no': Some Liverpool fans react as club eye 2019 Reds signing for PL loan next year
A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mirror over the weekend concerning Harvey Elliott and a potential loan move next season.
Elliott’s development into a first-team regular at Anfield seems inevitable at this stage.
He staked a claim for more game-time from Jurgen Klopp with an outstanding loan spell at Blackburn Rovers this past year.
The 18-year-old scored seven goals and contributed 11 assists in the Championship. Unsurprisingly, he is attracting attention this summer.
According to the Daily Mirror, Watford would like to take the winger on loan. The Hornets are, of course, gearing up for their Premier League return.
But it is not yet clear whether Klopp plans to hold onto Elliott or not. The Mirror reports that the Liverpool boss plans to take a look at the teenager in pre-season.
Based on some of the reaction to the Watford links on social media, many are hoping that he stays put.
Admittedly, some think Vicarage Road could be a good move for him. The priority has to be putting him somewhere where he is going to play.
And judging by the reaction from Watford supporters, he would certainly play for the club.
‘Exciting prospect’: Liverpool fans hope Harvey Elliott is not sent out on loan
But plenty of Liverpool fans believe that he has a role to play with the Reds next year.
Much may depend on what players are signed in the window. But some clearly think that he needs a chance on Merseyside from next season.
Here is how some of the fans have reacted to the reports…
How many of our current attacking subs come on and influence the game? Obviously with the front 3 + Jota it’s not easy to better them but we need some bit of variation. Elliott would be a welcome addition to the bench I think. Exciting prospect 👌

Depends if and who we sign this summer. If we add depth up front, a loan might be the best option

No keep him.

No way. Dortmund are a perfect example of if your good enough your old enough. He’ll be better around better players.

Depends what the lad looks like in pre-season and who we sign
Heck of a talent, I remember Owen and Stevie G looking like boys but play like men
But a loan to a Prem team and getting decent game time would be great development for the lad
