Tottenham are being linked with centre-forward Simy at Italian club Crotone – and some Spurs fans on Twitter are not pleased with the transfer speculation.
According to The Telegraph, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are in the market for a new striker this summer. The new Portuguese manager would like to play two forwards in attack, albeit Harry Kane has strong rumours linking him to Manchester City.
It is understood that Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic is a priority target, but it’s likely he would cost more than £40million to sign.
The report explains that attacker Simy is a cheaper back-up option to the number one target.
Simy was phenomenal last season for Crotone, scoring 20 Serie A league goals throughout the campaign. Unfortunately, he couldn’t prevent his team from relegation, so is preparing for a season in the second tier right now.
It’s obvious the Nigerian needs a transfer given his ability, but for now he’s only on the Spurs shortlist.

Tottenham anger towards Simy rumour shows ambition
In truth, Simy is an unfamiliar name to most English audiences. It deserves praise though to net a 20-goal league season in the Italian top flight.
Spurs fans do have the right though to voice their feelings, as they are convinced they need to be setting their standards higher with someone more proven. Also, aged 29, Sima doesn’t seem like he would be a long-term investment.
The north London club have a glamorous stadium that competes with any ground in the world. They just need the team to match it now, though.
