'No thanks': Romelu Lukaku has short response when asked if he'd play for Arsenal
Romelu Lukaku delivered a devastating display of forward play as Chelsea beat Arsenal today, and then he had two simple words when asked if he’d play for the Gunners.
Lukaku, speaking in his post-match interview following the game, was asked – tongue in cheek – if he’d consider playing for the Arsenal.
And in true Lukaku form, he delivered a short and sharp response with a quick ‘no thanks’ to the interviewer.
Lukaku got himself on the scoresheet and then bullied Pablo Mari throughout the game. If it was a sign of things to come, then Chelsea could take some stopping.
Arsenal would love a Lukaku
Then again, so would any team in world football. The fact Chelsea have managed to get him back is quite outstanding business.
He’s added an instant new dimension to the team and looked every bit the player we saw at Inter Milan last season.
Arsenal, meanwhile, looked devoid of confidence, ideas, and winning mentality. How, then, would they love to get their hands on a player like Romelu Lukaku.
But for now, as his quick ‘no thanks’ suggests, they’ll have to wait their turn.
Lukaku has returned a different beast this season. At Chelsea before, he was a young striker trying to make his way in the game.
Now, he is a world-class forward who can only improve the Blues.
The fact he described his own performance as ‘dominant’ in the interview says everything about him. The rest of the PL, and not just Arsenal, better be on their guard.
