‘No respect’… Callum Wilson left stunned after what Michail Antonio has just said about him

Callum Wilson was left stunned after West Ham’s Michail Antonio offered his verdict on how much the Newcastle United striker is worth in the current market.

The duo have been speaking on the latest episode of their podcast and discussed both of their current transfer values.

Michail Antonio admitted that with his contract expiring this summer, Callum Wilson is worth more in today’s market.

But the West Ham star believes the Newcastle striker is worth somewhere between £10 million to £12 million, which didn’t go down well with Wilson.

Wilson stunned after Antonio’s comments on his transfer value

Speaking on The Footballer’s Football Podcast, Antonio shared what he believes to be Wilson’s current market value.

“For me Cal, I would value you at more than me right now,” the Hammers man said. “He’s got two years on me and scored more goals than me last year as well.

“I feel that the guy is doing very well. His golden ages are coming and he’s still banging goals.

“I would say between £10-12 million. He is still banging goals, still in and around England. That puts a few mil on it!”

But Wilson was far from impressed with Antonio’s verdict and feels he would command a much higher fee.

“No respect, you know! You ain’t replacing me for £10 million,” the Newcastle star said. “On the field or off the field. It’s impossible!”

Wilson joined Newcastle for a fee worth around £20 million back in September 2020.

The 31-year-old has proven to be a reliable goalscorer for the Magpies, netting 26 times in 102 appearances.

But with just 18 months left on his current deal, you’d imagine that Antonio’s valuation isn’t exactly miles off.

He’s undoubtedly worth more to Newcastle at the moment, especially as they only have two quality options up front.

Yet, if Wilson does move on before the end of his current deal at St James’ Park, it would be a surprise to see Newcastle pick up a fee close to the £20 million they paid to sign him.
