Newcastle United fans have been reacting on Twitter today as the club confirmed that star striker, Callum Wilson, will miss between 6-8 weeks of action.
Wilson has a hamstring injury that will pretty much see him miss the majority of the Premier League run-in. It is a bitter blow for the Magpies, who have so reliant on Wilson in terms of both goals and assists this term.
It means the likes of Joelinton and Miguel Almiron will now have to step up to the plate, while new signing Joe Willock may also be tasked with building on his debut goal for the club.
Newcastle fans, then, are rightly fuming about the news, with Twitter awash with unhappy members of the Toon Army.
It seems Wilson’s importance to the club is bigger than anyone imagined. Indeed, some Newcastle fans think it could cost them their place in the Premier League, while others have called for others to step in, albeit with little faith in Joelinton it seems!
Not what we need right now….
Typical Newcastle, we all said we had no cover if this ever happened to Wilson.
