‘No pressure of winning trophies’: Some fans react to rumours that Arsenal want their £30m ace

A number of Chelsea fans have given their verdict on the continued speculation linking Willian to Arsenal, as reported by the likes of The Telegraph.

The Brazilian has been a great servant to the West London side since 2013, when he joined from Anzhi Makhachkala in a reported £30million move (BBC Sport).

Willian has made upwards of 300 appearances in which he claimed 59 goals and 59 assists, according to Transfermarkt.

According to The Telegraph, however, Willian’s time at Chelsea looks set to end this summer.

The 31-year-old was reportedly offered a two-year deal by the Blues, although he was said to be after a three-year deal.

With contract negotiations having failed to yield a breakthrough, Willian is now “expected” to leave Stamford Bridge on a free transfer.

As well as Arsenal and North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in the player.

Willian, however, seems to favour a Premier League stay, which seemingly bodes well for a prospective switch to the Emirates Stadium, or indeed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He told ESPN: “My desire is to stay in the Premier League, but I don’t rule out playing in other leagues, no. I’m going to play until the end of the season and see what happens. I’m very used to England.”

Reaction amongst the Chelsea fanbase was mixed, as seen below:
