Arsenal fans have reacted to Mikel Arteta’s comments on Thomas Partey “pushing” to be involved against Burnley.

The Gunners midfielder has struggled with injury and fitness issues since arriving at the Emirates last year.

Partey suffered an ankle injury in pre-season against Chelsea, which saw him miss the first four competitive games of Arsenal’s season.

The 28-year-old did, however, return for the 1-0 win over Norwich last week, coming off the bench.

Speaking ahead of the Gunners’ trip to Burnley on Saturday, Arteta revealed that the Ghana international has been training “in and out” this week.

“He has been training in and out this week,” Arteta told football.london.

“His load had to be managed because he was in early stages of the injury and what he had.

“He’s pushing everybody as he always does and he wants to be involved.

“We will make the decision for the weekend what is best for him.”
