Liverpool fans were left reeling yesterday as it emerged that Chelsea were set to beat them to the signing of Timo Werner, with Reds fans taking to Twitter to vent their anger.

After seemingly trailing the German for much of the last six months at a minimum, it appears Liverpool have now pulled out of a deal to land Werner.
Numerous reports – including the BBC – claim that the Reds aren’t willing to meet his near £60m release clause. That, coupled with the current financial climate, means Liverpool won’t be moving for the Leipzig man.
Werner has been in tremendous form once more this season in the Bundesliga. He’s impressed in the Champions League, too, putting in a fine display against Spurs a few months ago.

However, the news that Liverpool won’t be signing him has left many of their fans fuming. Indeed, a lot of the reaction on Twitter seemed to be directed at owners, FSG.
Here’s a look, then, at just what some Reds fans had to say in response to missing out on Timo Werner.
