Harry Redknapp has shared a somewhat controversial take on current Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou.
Redknapp is widely regarded as one of the best English managers of the last few decades and enjoyed an element of success himself while in charge of Spurs.
However, Postecoglou seems to have taken things to a new level and his Tottenham team are well in the mix for the top four while not being completely out of the title race either.
But Redknapp, speaking to iNews, believes that Postecoglou’s secret is not really anything to do with his tactics and comes purely from being able to manage people.

Harry Redknapp shares verdict on Ange Postecoglou
Speaking to iNews, Redknapp had some kind words about ‘Big Ange’ but suggested when it comes to training, the Spurs boss won’t be doing too much tactically.
“I hear too many young coaches, when kids try to do something different and beat someone and show skill, they get a rollicking: ‘Pass it! Move the ball quicker!’ No, let’s see you do something with the ball. Go and beat someone – let’s see individual talent coming through. There’s not enough of it. No disrespect, the guy at Tottenham ain’t a coach. He doesn’t coach, Ange, but he’s a motivator. He understands getting the best out of people,” Redknapp said.
Tottenham fans won’t care
And why would they when the brand of football is so good and the results are impressive as well?
Harry has probably looked like he’s been taken out of context a bit here. When you read the comments back out loud, it does look like he’s saying that Ange isn’t coaching his team.
In reality, Redknapp is probably saying that Postecoglou’s biggest skill is his man-management, rather than him being a master tactician like Pep Guardiola, for example.
We’ve seen so many managers do well working this way, Redknapp being one. And while things are going as well as they, Tottenham fans will not care one bit.
