Aston Villa fans have laughed off the idea of John McGinn joining Manchester United.

The Athletic report that the Scotland international is on the Red Devils’ shortlist. Technical Director, Darren Fletcher, is also a fan of McGinn.

Yet it unlikely that United will make a move for McGinn. As per the report, the midfielder signed a new long-term contract with Villa last December.

The former Hibernian star also turns 27-years-old soon, which is a factor the Manchester club are taking into account. United are believed to be interested in only signing younger players.

Furthermore, the Red Devils have already close to signing one player from Villa this summer in the form of Tom Heaton. The former England international is likely to join the Premier League titans as reported by the Telegraph.

Indeed, Villa fans on social media were in shock to see McGinn as a potential signing for United. Yet supporters believe such a deal will never take place unless the Red Devils big a significant amount of money.

Here’s what some fans had to say about the report on Twitter, with fans agreeing it will take a lot for Villa to sell McGinn…
