Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Fabinho will not be in action for the Reds this weekend.
The 27-year-old has been superb for Liverpool this season, both in his usual midfield role and also covering at centre-back in the absence of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
However, he was not involved in Thursday’s 3-1 victory at Tottenham, the Liverpool Twitter feed saying his absence was due to a “minor muscle issue”.

Fabinho was missing from Liverpool’s training session earlier on Thursday prior to the game at Spurs.
Speaking before the match, Klopp said the £100,000-a-week star “just felt something” and the decision was made to take him out of the squad.
With Liverpool next in action at West Ham on Sunday, the Reds boss gave an update on the fitness of Fabinho and Joel Matip, who came off during the Spurs game.
“Last night I was after the game, especially with that [Matip injury], pretty emotional just because at half-time the boys [are] sitting there,” said Klopp.
“Now, meanwhile, there are still glimpses of hope that it’s not serious.
“No, we don’t have the final result because the scan didn’t happen yet. So we know more in three or four hours hopefully.
“Fabinho, no chance for the weekend.”
TBR View:
Once again, Klopp has to deal with some major issues at centre-back, an area that has plagued him for much of the season.
Van Dijk and Gomez out long-term, Matip appearing injury prone, and Fabinho also experiencing knocks, the latest of which has come this week.
Hopefully Klopp can bring in a decent player at short-notice who could cover for the remainder of the season.
