‘No chance’: Fabrizio Romano has bad news for Everton fans

Everton have been linked with Joaquin Correa in recent weeks.

Indeed, the Toffees reportedly made a bid for the Lazio ace last week.

However, Correa apparently had his heart set on a move to Inter Milan.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, Everton have lost out to the Nerazzurri in the race for Correa.

The esteemed journalist claims the deal is in the final stages and the “here-we-go” is imminent.

Romano then mentioned Everton – sadly saying they have “no chance” of landing the Argentine.

Everton gave it their best shot, and when a player has his heart set on another club, there’s not really much you can do about it.

As well as being one of Italy’s elite clubs and the Serie A champions, Inter also have Simone Inzaghi as head coach.

Correa and Inzaghi had a great working relationship at Lazio.

Indeed, Alfredo Pedulla’s website claimed last week that Correa was willing to wait for Inter.

The Argentine “knows” Inzaghi and rates him very highly.

So if the player wants to reunite with his former coach, again, not much Everton can do about that.

Marcel Brands will surely have been aware that the Blues weren’t likely to land Correa already last week, and is likely to have moved onto other targets.
