Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield is reportedly on the radar of English top-flight club Southampton – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are strongly against offloading him.
The Saints have a “concrete” interest in the creative playmaker and are keen on landing him at the end of the season (Daily Mail).
The report details that the 30-year-old is valued at around £3million by the Ibrox club.
Arfield has been a vital part of Steven Gerrard’s team this campaign and quite often been the most attack-minded of a midfield trio.
He’s chipped in with 11 goals in 42 games across all competitions this season, while providing seven assists too.
A selection of Gers fans on social media are strongly against the suggestion of offloading him after just one season with them.
He’s been one of the best threats going forward aside from talisman Alfredo Morelos and some feel that he’s worth far more than the £3million quoted in the report.
Southampton snapped Stuart Armstrong away from Scottish champions Celtic last summer for £7million (BBC) and they now appear to be keen on another raid in the centre of the park.
Here are some of the Rangers fans discussing Arfield on Twitter:
Would have to be a crazy offer for us to let him go.
