The constant talk of a potential return to Liverpool for Brazilian midfielder, Philippe Coutinho, has been a constant discussion point since he left the club a few years back.
Liverpool cashed in on the classy playmaker back in 2018, netting a cool £142m for Coutinho, according to the BBC.
However, since that big move, the Brazilian has struggled to replicate the form he showed at Anfield with Barca. A loan spell with Bayern Munich didn’t go to plan either, and in the current market, Coutinho is worth a fraction of what the Reds sold him for.
Indeed, reports from Spain, via the Daily Star, claim that Barcelona could be prepared to cash in on Coutinho for as little as £35m this summer, as they look to stave off their own financial worries.

Of course, that would still represent a decent outlay for Liverpool should they make a move to bring back the 28-year-old. The Reds are expected to be busy in the summer, with a new forward, a defender, and a potential replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, all on the cards.
Coutinho’s availability will once again spark off the conversation 0ver a potential return to Anfield. And in fairness to the Brazilian, despite his acrimonious departure, he was a huge success on Merseyside. The little magician scored 41 times in just over 150 games for the Reds and very nearly got his hands on a Premier League title during that time.
Liverpool, of course, have surrendered their title with a whimper this term. And while the defensive side of things has dominated the headlines due to injury to key players, the attacking football we’ve become accustomed too has also gone missing.
It makes sense, then, for the Reds to seek a new attacking player this summer. Coutinho, despite being in a bit of a decline in the last few seasons, could provide a good option for FSG and Klopp to consider. Especially so, given the £35m fee and the apparent money the Spanish club still owe the Reds for the original deal.

Naturally, talk of Coutinho’s availability has got some fans on Twitter talking about a possible reuninon. Respected Liverpool Twitter account, Anfield Watch, posed the question to the Reds fanbase over whether they’d back a return for Coutinho.
It’s certainly a viable question and one which Liverpool fans responded to in their droves. And while there were some who think the club has moved on from Coutinho, there were strong arguments from a lot of Reds fans in terms of seeing the Brazilian back.
Here, then, is what some Liverpool fans had to say about a potential return to Anfield for Philippe Coutinho.
