Tottenham Hotspur legend and BBC Sport pundit Gary Lineker says Spurs paid Wycombe the biggest compliment in last night’s FA Cup fourth round clash.
Jose Mourinho’s charges ran out 4-1 winners away at Wycombe, but were made to work hard for their victory after falling behind.
Fred Onyedinma gave the Chairboys a shock lead in the 25th minute, but Gareth Bale equalised in first-half stoppage-time.
Both sides were still level going into the latter stages of the game before a late, late salvo from Tottenham spared their blushes.
In the 86th minute, Harry Winks picked up the ball 20 yards out, shifted it onto his left foot, and sent a curling effort into the top corner of Wycombe’s net.
Tanguy Ndombele then made it three almost immediately after and added a second deep into stoppage time.
Mourinho brought Kane on to replace Carlos Vinicius shortly before the hour, with Son taking over from Lucas Moura not long after.
And Lineker believes there is no bigger compliment than Tottenham’s two attacking stars having to be brought on.
