Kevin Campbell has told Sky Sports that Yves Bissouma now needs to join a team challenging for trophies after his man on the match display on Monday – before suggesting with a smile that there would be no better place for him than Arsenal.

Bissouma’s stock continues to rise. The midfielder was outstanding this week as Brighton played out a goalless draw with Everton.

It was further proof that Bissouma is one of the most exciting midfield talents in the Premier League. And with the summer window looming, thoughts will now be turning to whether Brighton will be able to hold onto him over the coming months.

The Daily Mirror recently reported that Mikel Arteta wants the 24-year-old at the Emirates. And it was noted in that report that Bissouma is a boyhood Arsenal fan.

And when asked about his value and the level Bissouma should move to this summer, Campbell clearly hinted that he would love to see him at the Emirates.

“If you get any change out of £40-£50 million, you’ve done well,” he told Sky Sports. “I think he’s that good. He’s young, he’s aggressive, good on the ball, gets about the pitch. Got good energy.”

“For me, he’s got to go to a team that has ambitions to push up that league and challenge for Europe or winning trophies. Struggling in the Premier League down at the bottom, he’s too good for that now.

“He really needs to move to a team, if they’re not challenging, who have the ambition to challenge. And there’s no better place than Arsenal.”

Bissouma is arguably exactly the kind of player Arsenal should target this summer. He has already thrived in the Premier League. And he is a player who could still be a few years away from his peak.

If he can build upon his current form, he could be an outstanding addition for another club. And it would be a major coup if Arsenal could be the ones to land his signature.
