Tottenham’s transfer woes could finally come to an end as they look to find a short-term fix with Harry Kane struck down by injury and Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen not up to scratch.
Spanish newspaper MARCA report that Atletico Madrid forward Nikola Kalinic has caught the eye of the London club and could depart Spain this month, having joined the club in the summer.
The Croatian international joined for €15 million (£13.2 million) from AC Milan but has scored just four goals and started only 10 games since moving to La Liga.

Given his target man style and his physical approach, he would be a player in a similar mould to Fernando Llorente. However, the veteran Spaniard has lost his form and confidence and Kalinic would be a certain upgrade.
Having played for some of Europe’s biggest clubs and still not on a significant decline, Kalinic may be available cheaply as Atletico look to balance the books as OK Diario say that the 31-year-old will be sold to make room for Alvaro Morata from Chelsea.
The transfer roundabout may not bring an exciting young talent to north London, but in Kalinic, Tottenham would be getting an experienced and proven veteran, and, perhaps most importantly, an upgrade on their current options.
