Everton attacker Alex Iwobi played 90 minutes on Friday on the international stage – and some Nigeria fans on Twitter responded with huge praise for his performance.
Nigeria recorded a dramatic 4-4 draw against Sierra Leone in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
The Super Eagles raced into a four-goal lead during the first-half, before a remarkable comeback from underdogs Sierra Leone to earn a point.
Iwobi, who was playing in a more number 10 attacking role, scored two first-half goals for Nigeria and has a strong record for his country.
The speedster now has eight goals in 39 caps for the African giants and will be hoping he can carry some momentum into his club form, as his season is yet to really ignite yet.

Iwobi hasn’t been a regular starter so far this season at Goodison Park, but has featured in all but one of the Premier League games so far and is certainly in the plans of Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti.
The 24-year-old usually operates as a winger for the Merseyside giants and is struggling to force his way into the XI, especially as he’s got Brazilian teammate Richarlison above him in the pecking order on the left and it’s a similar story with Jamez Rodriguez on the right.
Here are a selection of Nigeria supporters on social media discussing Iwobi’s international display:
