Nigeria fans hail Everton attacker Alex Iwobi for international performance

Everton’s Alex Iwobi played 70 minutes for Nigeria during a friendly against Ukraine on Tuesday – and some international fans on Twitter raved about his performance.

Nigeria drew 2-2 in a friendly match against Ukraine, with the Toffees attacker starting the contest in the number 10 role.

The 23-year-old set up the opening goal from Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo with his pass that he cut back in the penalty area.

Iwobi’s team held a two-goal lead when he went off the field, but Ukraine did respond with a late comeback as they netted twice in the space of two minutes.

A selection of Nigeria fans praised the Everton speed machine for his display and feel that he impressed.

Everton signed Iwobi in the summer from Arsenal and he could end up costing them £34million (BBC).

He’s a versatile attacker that can play anywhere across the frontline and has been deployed on the left flank so far by Toffees boss Marco Silva.

The trickster has played three games across all competitions so far for the Merseyside club and scored twice.

It looks like he could turn out to be an important player at Goodison Park this season and he should return after the international break with extra confidence.
